



Visual design for a VoIP phone used by stock traders. This was a unique convergence of industrial design, interaction design, and visual design, where the visualisation of complex data played a crucial role in the success of the interaction and perceived quality of the product.
Because the learning curve for this system and the user set was so steep, and our timeframe for user testing so short, I also led the development of high fidelity, screen-based prototypes in Flash and touch screen.

It has secured an unprecedented 60% adoption rate for the new model among existing customers, despite a traditional first-year acceptance rate of only 10-15% for new products within the high-stakes, risk-averse trading market. Having spent $10M on product development for the turret, IPC saw sales returns of $36M in Q1 alone. 85% of quotes offered by the company today are for the IQ/MAX.
